Soon planning, preparation and prayer will begin for Easter. Every year Church school personnel and Christian education staff think about how to present their Easter programs.

Scripts and scriptures are distributed, young people learn their lines, costumes and props are made. Everything has been rehearsed, you are ready to present.

Easter Sunday morning the pastor invites everyone to return after worship for the Easter program. If your congregation is like a church I once pastored, only a few families would come to the program.

Therefore, the following year I recommended to the Church school superintendent why not have the Easter program as part of the morning worship.

The effect was two fold:

1) larger attendance and 2) families can be together after church.

The church school staff was happy as well as church members.

Young people were especially affirmed during worship, which is a rare opportunity in our churches.
